LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Mark Huizenga on Tuesday announced Ryan Knight as his new chief of staff.

“I am proud to have Ryan join our team to help serve the hardworking people of Kent and Ottawa counties and give them a voice on the tough issues affecting them and our entire state,” said Huizenga, R-Walker. “As a native of our district, Ryan has a connection to and genuine understanding of our community and the experience necessary to help us get things done to improve our state and solve problems facing West Michigan families and workers.”

Knight was born and raised in the 30th Senate District and is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in political science and public administration. He enjoys spending his personal time hunting, fly-fishing, and enjoying other Michigan outdoor activities with his wife Abby.

Prior to joining Huizenga’s office, Knight worked as a public policy field director for the Michigan Realtors, where he served as a liaison for local realtor associations throughout the state. He also previously served as campaign manager and policy advisor for current state Rep. Bryan Posthumus.
